Kilauea Iki Lava Lake

Overlooking Kilauea Iki  - solidified lava lake nearly 1 mile long and 3,000 feet across.

The remnant of the 1959 lava fountain which reach 1,900 feet.

Close-up of the fissure which still vents a small volume of volatiles - we could see a few "puffs" while we observed the site.
